Lord what shall our focus be in the coming year? What is the strategy you want to unfold for us?
Right before Trump was elected for his second term, I had a dream. My husband and I were riding in the back of a silver-gray sports car. Trump was driving, speeding up to merge onto a four-lane highway. He was looking to avoid the rush of traffic. Even in his merging, he exhibited his “get-’er-done” Trump attitude.
I think the first part of our strategy is found on this highway. Isaiah speaks of it in this way:
A highway will be there, and a roadway;
And it will be called the Holy Way.
The unclean will not travel on it,
But it will be for those who walk on the way [the redeemed];
And fools will not wander on it.
No lion will be there,
Nor will any predatory animal come up on it;
They will not be found there.
But the redeemed will walk there.
And the ransomed of the Lord will return
And come to Zion with shouts of jubilation,
And everlasting joy will be upon their heads;
They will find joy and gladness,
And sorrow and sighing will flee away.Isaiah 35: 8-10 AMP
This is God’s path for us. The silver color of the car represents refining and purification. As we submit to the Lord’s loving hand of correction in our personal lives, he will prepare us, giving us revelation to know how to pray personally and in the field of anti-trafficking. He’s after the wounds of our trauma before sending us to rescue others from their plight.
I think of this famous verse:
If My people, who are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 AMPC
God wants to heal our land, our families, and our lives. This comes with a humongous promise to hear, heal and forgive. Will we come seeking His face like food and water, waiting patiently on him? Will I trust him to “search me thoroughly…and know my heart, test me and know my anxious thoughts…and lead me in the way everlasting?” (Psalm 139:23-24b, AMP)
God wants to change us first. Then we, his children, can clearly and honestly be transformers in a broken world, even in our prayers. As we open ourselves to his refining, receiving the truth, then our “word arrows” will be aligned with him. This may be obvious, yet I believe the Lord is emphasizing this right now. Apart from him, I really can’t do anything.
Dream, Part 2
Back to the dream—The scene switches to a house where my husband and I had spent the night. The next morning we came out of the house with Trump walking ahead. I caught up to him and asked, “How did you get involved in anti-trafficking efforts?”
Unexpectedly, he reached into his pocket, pulled out his cell phone, handed it to me, and kept walking. Surprised, I thought, I don’t know the passcode, not to mention what to do with it.
When I reflect on this dream, Rob and I represent the many intercessors for anti-trafficking work. We now have a conservative government, where we have a fellow fighter in office, who I believe wants to eradicate this stain on our world.
The four-lane highway could reference the current four years of Trump’s administration. (There are now three years remaining in that administration.) Four is also a number representing completeness and divine order. God desires justice, an attribute of his character. We will know how to decipher what’s on the phone when we tune into His voice.
We live in an appointed time. God has chosen each one of us to live specifically in this era. Each of us has an assignment and a calling. As we walk in that, we will experience his favor. We’re in a covenant relationship, giving us automatic advantages over anything the enemy seeks to do.
This season is an opportunity to seek the Lord. In addition to his work in your heart, ask him for the “passcode” to the phone and grace to decipher what is found in its contents. Then listen intently to know next steps.
Often in this quiet place with him, he brings up the “stones” in our own hearts. If he brings something up, he is faithful to remove it as we simply agree and renounce it. His purpose is not to condemn us, but rather to deepen our relationship with him as his son or daughter.
He sees you.
I’ll close with this story. I’d been in a season of sad, anxiety-driven thoughts about a precious member of my family. The more I wanted to be free from this heaviness, it seemed the more entangled I was. I had not been able to shake off the fear and simply believe the truth of what God was doing behind the scenes. Feeling defeated yet again, I went for a walk.
About a half mile from our house, the road passes by a small lake that can be seen in the near distance. As I continued to walk down this road, I saw a large bird flying straight at me. Was it a hawk? No, too small for a hawk. Amazed, I could hardly believe a bald eagle was flying directly in my path. When he was about 50 yards from me, he veered off, heading towards the lake. For two years, I’d been looking to sight this eagle, and here he was flying straight for me. I could see the severe look in his eye and the sheen from his feathers.
Grateful tears tumbled down my face. I turned and followed the eagle towards the fence and watched him until he disappeared from sight. Going fishing! I thought. Dropping my head on the fence board, I wept aloud. I was trying to wrap my head around this unbelievable event. Without question, God gave that eagle a flight pattern that day. I can imagine an angel talking to him. “See that lady over there? Just fly over to her. Pause, then you can go to the lake.” In the natural, there was nothing there for him along that road, nothing that he might gain from flying that low.
God was speaking to my broken heart: “If I can bring an eagle to you so you can see him up close, what can I do in your family? Trust me. I’ve got you.” The Lord wanted to demonstrate His goodness in the details, so I rest in his plan to work all things for good in my life. He wants this for each one of us. Healthy and whole, we will be ready for his harvest. Let him do a deep dive in your heart, and as he does, know fruit will come in due season.

Beautiful to read this morning. Will copy and study ! Thank you !!!
Isaiah 35 is such an encouraging passage. Thankful for the Holy Spirits sustaining grace to help us keep going forward! I’ve seen this highway as relatively short. Perhaps this is a reminder of God’s perspective of our “ momentary” time on earth.
