The Lion in the Rubble

They never thought it would touch them. Hurricanes typically don’t bother this tiny island, a jewel of the Caribbean that is home to some 350 people. But when it did come, it was a true terror, unlike anything they might have imagined.

Everyone I talked with referred to the storm as “she,” and many sensed an evil intent, as if this force sought to wipe every sign of life from their island. As the hurricane began its four-hour onslaught, thirty-one children and several adults sought refuge in the Catholic Church, the only stone structure on the entire island. 

When the roof blew off and part of the walls collapsed, they ran to another part of the church, but even on this hilltop, the winds forced the rain in, flooding what was left of the building.  They began to bail as fast as they could. “She turned the waters,” described one survivor, spinning her finger round and round in a downward motion.

Intense tornadoes are common when a powerful hurricane reaches land, but these did not diminish as winds reaching 150 mph or more swept across the slim, half-mile strip of hills, from open water to open water. 

At one point a young girl looked up and saw a boat flying overhead. A little boy who held her hand tried to make sense of what he was seeing. “Is there a witch in that boat?” he asked. Miraculously all the children were spared. Though many homes and other buildings were severely damaged, not a single life was lost on the island that day.

Three weeks after the storm hit, I was walking back up the hill to where I was staying, when my eye landed upon something colorful near the top of a black trash bag. Taking a closer look, I discovered a brightly painted roaring lion. Surely, this could not be left for the burn pile. 

I picked it up, drawn to this sign of hope in the rubble. I was reminded that God sees every heartbreak, every ferocious attack of the enemy, every uprooted tree, and every flattened home. Flipping the painting over, I read “Roar of Justice.” Under the title, the artist, Janet Hyun, wrote

“The King is roaring for Justice. Injustice is arising, and surrounding the world, but He will not stand for it. He roars, and battles on our behalf, because He is a just King.”

Just as Beryl sought to destroy life on Mayreau, the enemy has sought to destroy families, relationships, and this generation of children all over the earth in ways we have never seen before. Demonic forces like the goddess Ishtar and the gods Molech and Baal are wreaking havoc in the earthly realm, attacking our youth through homosexuality, prostitution, trafficking, pornography, and transgenderism. 

But far from being forgotten or ignored, we serve a just God, who roars over the injustices against His children. 

For the next three months, we have an opportunity to partner with our Lion of Judah’s roar. On August 7th, Christy Johnston had an unexpected dream, where she found herself calling people to pray every day between now and election day on November 5th. We know that our elections and Israel are battlegrounds in the spiritual realm that have the capability of shaping the future of our nation and the world. Christy reached out to Lou Engle, and together they released a live Instagram message stressing the urgency of this 90-day call to prayer. 

The request is to set your alarm for 4:14 am or 4:14 pm in your local time daily to pray. These times came from Esther 4:14:

“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Another intercessor received a dream where the Lord told her to join the messages of Esther 4:14 with Nehemiah 4:14, which says

And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”

During your 4:14 time pray not only for Israel and America, but for our inheritance—the children around the globe. Maybe the evil coming against them has been like a hurricane, but God will have this generation, those He’s been wooing and calling into His kingdom. They will fulfill their divine destiny!

Pray

1. Those who seek to destroy Israel will utterly fail.

2. Repent as an American and for Israel for every unrighteous agreement with the enemy. Demand the dismantling of witchcraft and the occult in every area of our governments and society.

3. Pray for the presidential elections, and the evil agenda of the Democratic Party to fail. We need righteous leadership to protect and promote what is healthy for our children.

4. For the sake of the global harvest of souls and the next generations, pray WW III to be held back and the anti-Christ not to be seated. Pray many young people come to know Jesus as their Lord, friend, King, shepherd and more. 

5. Call America back into her original covenant with the Lord. Celebrate in advance the Lord’s return to our educational system with fresh and new ideas, where youth are able to live in their true identities.

6. Pray for individuals to be delivered from addictions, sin patterns, mental illness, and identity confusion. May the mercy of the Lord flood their lives in this hour.  

Decree

We decree the Lord goes forth like a mighty one; He stirs up his zeal like a warrior. He shouts; yes, He roars in triumph over His enemies. Isaiah 42:13
