The ancient Persian queen Esther stood in the gap to save the Jews from sure annihilation. What if a group of modern-day Esthers could come together on Yom Kippur, October 12th, to cry out for America in humility, fasting, and prayer on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.? Lou Engle and Jenny Donovan of Her Voice Movement dared to believe it could happen and organized “A Million Women.” This past Saturday, men, women, and children showed up from all over the country to take a stand, worship, repent, and intercede for this nation .
My husband and I knew we were suppose to be there. You could feel the tangible presence of the Lord as people worshipped and engaged in this historic, pivotal moment in our nation. “Don’t be a spectator,” one leader admonished. From 9am to 7pm, various individuals led prayer segments on family, government, the election, abortion, and the sexual perversion and addictions plaguing our land.
I was touched by the unashamed desire for freedom found in the crowd. When asked if anyone there had struggled with same-sex attraction or knew of someone who had, honest hands were raised in recognition of personal struggles and compassion for others. No eyes were closed or heads bowed. This is the body of Christ turning and returning to the heart of their Father.
As someone sensed even prior to the day, God was bending down to listen (Psalm 116:2, NLT). God graciously drew near to us, inclined His ear, and responded to our cries. All-day repentance, and reminders of our identity and calling as a people culminated in communion and a prophetic act.
What is a prophetic act?
The Bible is full of prophetic acts, used to demonstrate a sign or message to his people. Prophets acting in obedience to the word of the Lord did some unusual things. Ezekiel, for example, laid on his side for 40 days (Ezekiel 4:1-8), he covered his face and dug though a wall (Ezekiel 12:3-7), and he was instructed by God not to mourn his dead wife (Ezekiel 24:16-24).
The Altar of Ishtar
In the familiar story, Esther exposed Haman’s evil plot to destroy her people, and he was hung on the very gallows he had erected for another Jew, her uncle Mordecai. Esther’s bold courage to fast, to pray, and to approach the king saved every Jew in the entire kingdom. This gathering of Esthers on our National Mall was ready to agree, to stand against the principalities and powers of darkness coming against our nation and against our families.
In the same part of the world where Esther ruled as queen, the goddess Ishtar, a Babylonian idol associated with love, fertility, and sex had been worshipped for centuries. Ishtar has been associated with promiscuity, prostitution, and the destruction of family. Her influence and demonic roots have been evidenced in our sexualized culture and in child sex trafficking. (References to Ishtar can be found in Judges 2:11-15; Jeremiah 7:17-20, 44:15-19; and Revelation 17:1-18.)
An altar representing that of Ishtar was made and set up on the speakers’ platform. Late in the day and after communion, Jonathan Cahn, a Jewish rabbi interceded in prayer and made declarations as follows.
Lord we stand before you now and recognize the confusion of sexuality and the bondage that has come on this land due to the raising up of the altar of Ishtar, the altar of abortion, of sexual immorality, of pornography, of transitioning and mutilating of children, of the goddess of the rainbow, the goddess of June and Pride, the altar that has led to divorce, to destruction of families, of marriages, of children, of men…that would emasculate men, and de-feminize women, the altar on which children have been offered up, which destruction has come on this altar.
We pray now, people of God, toward the altar for the power of God, the blood of Messiah which is stronger than any god and any altar. We pray from the altar of the cross to destroy the altars of the gods. Lord we lift this up to you now, and we pray you would cast out the spirit of Ishtar, cast out the spirit of pornography, cast out the spirit of sexual immorality, cast out the spirit of trafficking of women and children. We call for the breaking of sexual confusion, the breaking of the alteration of your creation, the breaking of the spirit that has confused man and woman and woman and man. We pray you would set free those who are in bondage. Right now from pornography, from same-sex sexuality, from mutilation and transitioning…from all these things…release those being trafficked right now, Father.
We pray Father, CAST OUT THIS spirit. Lord, set the captives free. Set the captives free. We cast out this spirit from the capitol. We cast out this Spirit of Ishtar from the youth, from the home, from our schools, from the universities, from the cities, and from this nation. Get out of, this country, this world, get out of the church, get out of our lives and families, out of our children. In the name of Yeshua, Jesus.
We proclaim the blood of Yeshua Jesus..the lamb of God!!!
At this point Jonathon handed the mic to Lou Engle. Lou directed, “Release the ROAR!” The crowd roared and yelled. The shofars sounded across the mall.
With sledge hammer in hand, Jonathan slammed the table of the the altar twice, cracking it in half. It fell to either side. Two more men beat the pedestal until someone pulled it down. I so wanted to be up there with a sledge hammer as they struck the debris. But all of our raised voices agreed with those blows. Eventually the men and others smashed and pulverized this altar. It is completely destroyed. Shouts of victory and shofars resounded in the crowd of several hundred thousand people.
Destroyed
The Ishtar altar erected and worshipped in our nation, which has been responsible for invasive sexual perversion is now beaten, smashed, and pulverized! This prophetic act has been loosed in America and we will see the manifestations of freedom we have been longing for. Watch for it!
The war is not over, but a major giant in the dark realm no longer has permission to operate. There’s a new opening in the spirit to bring sons and daughters out of the darkness.
Let’s also agree to enforce in prayer what has happened in the spirit realm with our continued decrees.
Declarations
Father we agree as one with the words of Jonathan Cahn. The spirit of Ishtar has been cast out. Open people’s spiritual eyes so many will now be able to walk out in freedom.
Prepare your church to receive those now open to walking in purity and harmony with the Lord. Send those who share the love of Jesus and the heart of the Gospel.
Chains are broken! Let buyers and traffickers come out, get free, then go back to rescue others. Grant them a desire to fully repent.
We thank you for this victory and declare future battles’ won, until all of the forces of darkness are driven out of our land.
Continue to purify our hearts so we will be made ready as that beautiful bride of yours.
HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!! I watched the video and was amazed at the power and anointing in a recording – can’t imagine what it was like in person. SO grateful for those who prayed this event into existence and believing for the complete overthrow of this perversion!
