The Surprise U-Turn

Next week marks the first day of autumn, a new season. God’s calendar is turning a page as well. I believe we are entering a golden era, where our intercession for the move of God upon the generations will be of immeasurable value to our Heavenly Father.

This past week the body of Christ witnessed the tragic loss  of Charlie Kirk—a voice of challenge in schools and campuses across the country—who died a martyr’s death. In less than a week, Charlie’s death has sparked a fiery response. As of September 15, Turning Point USA had 37,000 new applications to start new chapters in high schools, colleges, and universities. Before this, there were 9,000.

One day after this tragedy, on 9/11/25, David Allen, a Houston pastor, was released from jail, where he’d been unlawfully held for 79 days. While there, David survived, as he put it, “extreme psychological torture—overcome by reading, reciting, singing scripture—the louder the torture, the louder the praise.” This was not his first experience of unlawful jail time.

For quite a while, David has been fighting one of the worst Planned Parenthood mega-centers in the country in the western hemisphere. Undercover video has shown them harvesting and selling baby body parts. Even after Roe v. Wade was overturned, this location scheduled and paid for young women to go to other states to kill their babies. Thanks to David and others standing in the gap, this Planned Parenthood is shutting down. Praise God!

On a related front, David has stood in the gap for children trapped in child sex slavery. He is a man refusing to be silent in the face of evil. Please read his letter below—an inspiration for all of us to follow Jesus, no matter the cost.

Letter from the Houston Jail

August 24, 2025 • 60th day in jail

Interim Pastor David Allen

In 1857, SCOTUS issued the Dred Scott decision to impose the evil of slavery upon America. Those who resisted were arrested, imprisoned and beaten. But in a bloody civil war that cost a million lives, God ended that abomination over the strident objections of about half the country. Praise God.

In 1896, SCOTUS issued the Plessy decision to impose the evil of segregation upon America. Those who resisted were arrested, imprisoned and beaten. But in a bloody civil rights movement, with German Shepherds and Fire hoses God ended that abomination over the strident objections of about half the country. Praise God.

In 1973, SCOTUS issued the Roe V. Wade Decision to impose the evil of abortion upon America. Those who resisted were arrested, imprisoned and beaten. But after 50 years and after the blood of 70 million Americans was shed God ended that abomination over the strident objections of about half the country. Praise God.

In the last days of segregation, Rev. Martin Luther King was imprisoned in the Birmingham Jail. From there he wrote a famous letter admonishing the church for its timidity in the face of that evil.

Holocaust martyr Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who said “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil,” documents the same concerns with the failure of the church.

This same timidity by the church—and failure to stand in the gap for the defenseless—was seen with slavery, segregation and abortion. Biblical arguments were made as we ignored the murders and degradations of each abomination.

Today is the 60th day of my imprisonment in the Houston (HCSO) Jail for exposing the local, state and federal elected and appointed officials ignoring the now-proven child sex slavery operation at 6855 SW Freeway in Houston, Texas.

And in the spirit of Reverend King’s letter, Acts 14:22 states that through many tribulations we must enter the Kingdom of God. And yet, it may be that our silence and inaction in the face of the global scourge of God’s most precious children being held in sexual slavery—with our pious silence and critical judgement of those who would stand in the gap—may be called to account if at the final judgement we hear, “Depart from Me. I never knew you.”

On the website, you can hear the words of Otis Clark, age 109 and still evangelizing: “The world belongs to you,” he tells those who have put their trust in Christ Jesus. “Tell the devil to go to hell.”

What do you say we do that now?

Prayer

Father, I want to thank you for the faithful witness of your servants Charlie Kirk and David Allen. Both men have sparked the move of heaven in this present time. One is with you and his blood speaks out loud to this generation. One has come through a crucible, where his refining means freedom for others.

Thank you for answered prayers and the shutting down on September 30, 2025, of the Planned Parenthood mega-center in Houston. Grant David Allen and his congregation this land for the healing center for moms and dads who’ve lost their babies. We ask that you will provide everything needed to bring this vision to pass. We also declare your complete provision for Flying Cross Ranch, where children harmed by trafficking can have a place to experience your love and restoration.

Lord, this is a sobering time. I decree your ekklesia is rising to the call of action. This will transform families, broken lives, and result in radical love stories about Jesus. This is the season of greater works. Pour out fresh oil of intercession that we may agree with your kingdom work. I call in the Isaiah 6 decree: “Here I am. Send me.” Let us all in one accord put our hand to the plow and reap Your mighty harvest. Amen.

Decree

A seed falls in the ground and springs up, producing thirty-, sixty-, one hundred-fold. Do it, Lord!

  1. What a powerful lens with which to view how the purposes and mission of God are being accomplished in this day. Scripture tells us “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.””
    ‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭33‬ ‭

In the end, Jesus walks with us through every trial and sorrow. And that’s where we find peace.

Thank you for sharing this – timely message.
